Indian tractor maker Mahindra has opened a new headquarters and assembly facility in Michigan, Mahindra Automotive North America has announced. During a press conference the week of Thanksgiving, executives announced plans teasing the new Mahindra off-road utility vehicle and possible on-road vehicles, like a post-office vehicle it has developed.
Known mainly in the U.S. for tractors, in 2015 the Mahindra branded ag vehicle has been achieving 70% annual growth in an otherwise flat category, officials say. The new off-road model, called Roxor, will be available in early January 2018. Mahindra Automotive North America President and CEO Rick Haas told reporters the company believes it is going to change the category.
