Toro Co. is expanding with a major $25 million addition at the company’s Bloomington, Minn. headquarters. The three-story addition covers 75,000 sq. ft. The expansion is scheduled for completion by summer 2014, when Toro celebrates its 100th anniversary.
Toro’s current facility includes 400,000 sq. ft. of office, R&D and manufacturing space and employs more than 900 workers.
Toro Co. has been in Bloomington since it opened a research and development facility there in 1952. State officials noted that the Minnesota Investment Fund will award Toro a $750,000 loan that will be forgiven if the lawn care equipment company retains 900 workers in Minnesota and adds at least 50 new corporate jobs.
